Test analytics 2025: Which certifications were taken most last year?

It’s time to look back again! We gathered the tests taken last year at both our test centers, in Espoo and Gothenburg. As in the previous year, there are clear differences between the cities: Espoo focuses on IT and cloud certifications and language tests, while business and finance exams are strongly represented in Gothenburg.

The biggest test providers

Pearson VUE strengthened its position even further. In Espoo, Pearson VUE’s share of all exams rose to 84.1% (2024: 74.84%), and in Gothenburg it stayed almost unchanged at 90.6%. Pearson VUE delivers exams from Microsoft, AWS, ISC2, PMI and GMAT, among others.

Kryterion’s share in Espoo was 12.4% (2024: 22.16%), while in Gothenburg it grew slightly to 4%. PSI’s share remained small in Espoo (1.8%) but was clearly larger in Gothenburg at 5.2%. Meazure exams made up around one percent in both cities, and a few Red Hat exams were also taken in Espoo.

Pearson VUE: Microsoft and GMAT on top

• Microsoft is by far the most popular certification vendor in Espoo: 43.4% of all Pearson VUE exams. In Gothenburg, Microsoft’s share was 27%, which is significant there too.

• GMAT is the most popular single Pearson VUE exam in Gothenburg (34.8%). In Espoo, GMAT’s share was 14.6%. People preparing for graduate business studies find their way to our test centers in both cities.

• PTE (Pearson Test of English) is still an Espoo specialty: 18.3% of Pearson VUE exams. Demand for language tests in Espoo has remained strong.

• Security certifications continue to grow. ISC2’s share was 11.7% in Gothenburg and 4.4% in Espoo.

• AWS is more popular in Gothenburg (12.5%) than in Espoo (2.8%). In addition, IIA (6.8%), PMI (5%) and Salesforce (4%) exams were taken in Espoo, and PMI (6.3%), Cisco (2.1%), CFI (1.9%) and IIA (1.9%) exams in Gothenburg.

Kryterion: Google Cloud in Espoo, ServiceNow in Gothenburg

• Google Cloud is the most popular Kryterion exam in Espoo (44.8%), while in Gothenburg its share was only 3.7%. Demand for cloud skills is still clearly visible in Espoo.

• ServiceNow is the most popular Kryterion exam in Gothenburg (48.1%), and in Espoo its share was 25.9%. IT service management professionals are getting certified in both cities.

• A newcomer was Infor, with as much as 25.9% of Kryterion exams in Gothenburg. Salesforce (Espoo 17.2%, Gothenburg 11.1%) and Databricks (Espoo 8.7%, Gothenburg 11.1%) complete the list.

PSI: ISACA and GARP

• ISACA is clearly the most popular PSI exam in Espoo (54%). In Gothenburg, its share was 18.9%.

• GARP (financial risk management certifications) dominates PSI exams in Gothenburg with a 75.7% share. In Espoo, GARP’s share was 14%.

• Jira (10%) and GitHub (8%) certifications were also taken through PSI in Espoo, which shows demand for software development tool skills.

Meazure: ISA/EIC most popular in both cities

Of Meazure exams, ISA/EIC was again the most popular in both Espoo (70%) and Gothenburg (66.7%). The rest of the Meazure exams in Espoo were ACE exams (30%), and in Gothenburg NICCS exams (33.3%).

Summary: Espoo and Gothenburg – two different professional environments

2025 continued the trend of previous years. Espoo emphasizes IT and cloud certifications such as Microsoft, Google Cloud and ServiceNow, as well as the PTE language test. Gothenburg focuses on business and finance exams such as GMAT and GARP, but also AWS, ServiceNow and Infor. Security certifications such as ISC2 and ISACA continue to grow in both cities.

In addition to these international test providers and exams, we also delivered exams for local test providers last year. They are not included in the figures in this review, but they are very important to us.
